Summer Musical Journeys
Tenth Stop – London
In this final installment of Summer Musical Journeys with Texas Camerata, our Tenth Stop takes us once again to England to hear the music of Georg Frideric Handel. This trio sonata movement, which displays the influence of Handel’s German roots and his travels in Italy, features Dolores August, Kristin Van Cleve, Sarah Freiberg and Robert August.
Ninth Stop – Germany
Our Ninth Stop takes us to Germany to hear music for Baroque trumpets performed by Adam Gordon and Leigh Anne Hunsaker, and harpsichordist Brian Bentley.
Eighth Stop – Vienna Austria
Our eighth stop takes us to the Viennese Court and the music of Johannes Schmelzer, performed by Adam Gordon and Leigh Anne Hunsaker on Baroque trumpets and Brian Bentley on harpsichord.
Seventh Stop – Italy
In our seventh stop, Ryland Angel shares his Psalm project with us as we visit the magnificent cities and cathedrals of Italy.
Sixth Stop – America
Our sixth stop in our Summer Musical Journey takes us to revolutionary-era Boston, where we hear a work written by the Nation’s first professional composer, William Billings (1746-1800). Soprano Emmie Arduino, Alto Natalie Arduino, Tenor Jeremiah Tyson, and Bass David Grogan offer a stirring rendition of the song “America”.
Fifth Stop – England
In our fifth stop we continue to explore the English Baroque with our friends from Boston, Dee and Robert August, who will perform a work by John Frederick Ranish, a noted 18th century performer and composer.
Fourth Stop – Merry Olde England!
Our fourth stop on our Summer Musical Journey features music for Baroque Trumpet. Adam Gordon and Leigh Anne Hunsaker, with Brian Bentley on harpsichord, perform fanfares and duos from Merry Olde England!
Third Stop – France
Our third stop on our Summer Musical Journey takes us to Paris, France where violinist Kristin Van Cleve and flautist Lee Lattimore perform two works from Baroque composer Esprit Philippe Chédeville.
Second Stop – Scottish Countryside
Our second stop takes to to the Scottish Countryside where we continue our summer musical journey with one of our favorite guest artists, countertenor Ryland Angel.
First Stop – Cöthen, Germany
The first stop on our journey is Cöthen, Germany, where Bach wrote much of his instrumental music in the employ of Prince Leopold. We hope that you’ll join us every week as we travel virtually.
